Climate change causing natural disasters: CM

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Rawat today stated that climate change was leading to natural disasters. He was addressing a day-long workshop — Strengthening State Strategies for Climate Actions — organised jointly by the Uttarakhand Disaster Management Department and the United Nations Development Programme in Dehradun.

The CM directed the chief secretary to set a committee for reviving Rispana river.

‘KOS, Greece — Crews of experts began examining the damage to cultural monuments and infrastructure on the eastern Greek island of Kos on Saturday, a day after a powerful earthquake killed two tourists and injured nearly 500 others in the Aegean Sea region that stretches to Turkey’s sprawling coast.
