RESPAC project launched
A REGIONAL project has been launched to help Pacific Island nations better prepare for natural disasters.
The Regional Disaster Resilience in the Pacific small island developing states (RESPAC) project, worth $F15.48m, is organised in partnership with the UNDP Pacific and is funded by the Russian Federation Government.
Russia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs Department of International Organisations deputy director, Dmitry Maksimychev said the project was an important part of their effort to implement the sustainable development goals and to strengthen relations with Asia and the Pacific countries.
